Omro's Circle of Honor
Five panels,surrounding the flag
Creating quite a scene
Coast Guard, Army, Navy
Air Force and Marines
Five beautiful emblems
That proudly represent
The five branches of service
Into which our Veterans went
A stone out in front
On which is inscribed
A heartfelt tribute
To the Veterans inside
As you step inside the circle
It's hard to recall
Which emblem was on which panel
But that doesn't matter now at all.
Once inside the circle
It's all about the names
They all sacrificed in some way
And that makes them all the same
Each name has a story
Loved ones, family and friends
Each Veteran had a bond
And a love for country that never ends
As you stand inside the circle
A humbleness abounds
For once inside the circle
You're standing on sacred ground
As you read the names that surround you
Take a moment to recall
The stories and experiences of their lives
That put them on this wall
Take a special moment
To reflect on "Panel Three"
These Veterans gave their all
They died for you and me
It means a lot to have a place
Where all of us can come
To pay tribute and say "thank you"
For all that they have done.
Thank you for serving.
