Edward Erickson Jr.
Edward Erickson Jr. was born January 1, 1920 in Berlin, WI. He was the son of Edward and stepmother Leah Erickson of Waukau. He attended the Waukau Grade School. He then entered Oshkosh High School and graduated in 1937. He attended Oshkosh State Teachers College for 2 years, and then studied forestry at the state Teachers College in Idaho, graduating in 1942.
He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1943 and received cadet training at Keesler Field and Baton Rouge. He received his wings in May of 1944. He was assigned to the Philippines in December of 1944 and was killed in a plane crash in the Philippines on May 30, 1945. He was buried in the Armed Forces Cemetery in the Philippines. He is survived by a
sister-in-law, Marion Erickson, of Waukau.
