They were both medical and since he was inducted in the Army, he really can't say why he served since he had been discharged from the Navy for medical reasons in 1939. He was inducted in the Army 5/29/1941 to 8/11/1941. He knew his father had been in two branches of the service, but didn't recall him ever telling why his health was such that he was discharged. On the discharge papers of both the Army and Navy it says his character was excellent. |
