Notes: His wife, Vernita writes, Bob enlisted at the age of 17. He served 18 months in Korea and worked most of that time in Water Purification. None of the water there was fit to drink where they were stationed. He never talked much about what happened over there. He said "It was a job that needed to be done", so he did his part. He talked about the many different vehicles he drove while in Korea. When he came back to the states, he spent some time at Camp McCoy before being sent to Fort Ord in California. He drove an ambulance there for the Army for 4 months before being discharged. He returned to Eureka, where he lived for the next 53 years.
