Howard was in the 713th Armored Flame Thrower Batallion. The 713th was the only Flame Thrower Battalion in WWII. Flames shot out of 75 millimeter gun of a Sherman tank / a very effective weapon in Okinawa. Howard William Posorske inducted Nov 18, 1942. Served in the 713th Armored Flame Thrower Tanks. First tanks in Pacific to be modified in this way. He served in the Service Company and rose to a rank of T/5. Landed in Okinawa in the spring of 1945. At the end of WWII, he served 3 months in Korea. He headed home Jan. 31, 1946.
