Arthur J. Hyde

Arthur J. Hydewas born January 31, 1919 in Houser, MI. to Mr. & Mrs. Clarence
A. Hyde.  He graduated from Omro High School, and attended Oshkosh
State Teachers College for one year before studying at the
Curtiss-Wright Technical Schools of California and St. Louis.

Arthur enlisted in the U. S. Army Air Corps on February 14, 1941, and served
about 3 years.  He arrived overseas in India in October.  Capt.
Arthur J. Hyde was a pilot on a B-29, and was flying on his third
mission when reported missing over China on November 11, 1944.
Almost a year and a half after he was reported missing, Capt. Arthur
J. Hyde, 27, was officially listed as dead in a telegram from the war
department to his wife, Ruth Hyde.  Besides his wife and father, he
was survived by a son James Byron Hyde, age 2.
